Berkhamsted Outdoor Fitness was launched in January 2009 and was the first outdoor all weather workout of its kind in the area. Who is Berkhamsted Outdoor Fitness for? It’s for everyone; you choose your own level and set your own pace. We are supportive and will push you to achieve your goals in a fun but structured way. It’s for unfit beginners to fitness enthusiasts – we tailor it to your needs. Working outside has been proven to burn more calories; working on uneven surfaces is one of the main reasons for this as you are recruiting more muscles whilst you are working out. Your body is also working against the fresh air, which not only makes you feel invigorated but it all helps to burn more calories – the more muscles you can work in a single session, the more effective the workout for fat loss and toning up! We will target your whole body paying special attention to areas that may be a little more difficult to shift weight from including: muffin tops, legs, waist, arms, and butt! You will get fitter by challenging yourself with cardio drills, circuit training, hill sprints and interval training all under the expert guidance of our professional trainers. |
Laura Thompson Instructor My fitness career began in 2002 when I qualified as a Personal Trainer, after two successful years I decided to specialise in group fitness instruction and undertook training in the following disciplines: Pilates, Spinning, Boxercise, Step Aerobics and a course specialising in training the older client. The newly popular “Zumba” exercise is the most recent skill I have gained. I have been an instructor at Berkhamsted Outdoor Fitness for almost two years and have found it fits my portfolio perfectly. I love training outdoors and I keep my own fitness at the highest level with several outdoor activities including netball, surfing, skiing and competing in triathlons. With my 7 years experience of instructing group fitness classes I am able to achieve results for clients across a wide range of fitness abilities. The satisfaction for me is working people hard whilst keeping them in high spirits – they usually leave my class feeling energised. |

My approach to lifestyle is that it takes time to change. I do not believe in fad diets or losing weight quickly. I am a highly motivating instructor who strives to achieve the very best for all my clients. |
